We are going to I.S.U. on October 11 2008. As you know it is a very longgggggggg day for the Band. In order to make the day a day they will remember, we, the Band Boosters, are going to feed the kids. We already have hot dogs for them,and we are hoping that you can send us a dish to help feed everyone. Please contact Mary Johnson at and let her know what you are planning on donating. Benedictine and Prospect HS Competition Itinerary (UPDATE)

The Prospect High School and Illinois Benedictine competitions are Saturday, October 4. Please click on the link below for the days itinerary. I have added a traffic flow map for the Benedictine competiton as well as a link to the Marching Classic08 web site.
Our next CASINO NIGHT will take place from 2:00pm until Midnight on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the European Crystal Banquet Hall located at 519 W. Algonquin Road in Arlington Heights. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR ALL TIMES!!!!!
Casino Nights are one of our biggest fundraisers, come out and support the RHS Marching Spartan Band.

The ISU Field Show is Saturday, October 11. This is an all day event held at Illinois State University. We would like to encourage all parents to come to ISU and enjoy the event. Also, as in the past, we would like to organize a pot-luck for the band.

Wheeling and St. Rita Results

Congratulations to the RHS Marching Spartan Band for the following:
Wheeling Field Show (September 20) The Marching Spartans earned a THIRD PLACE trophy in class AA at the
Wheeling field show competition on September 20th.
St. Rita Field Show (September 28) Congratulations to the band for another fine performance at yesterday's
competition at St. Rita High School. In addition to the BEST PERCUSSION
TROPHY, the band took home the THIRD PLACE trophy out of 12 bands in
the AA class.
Way to go, band! Keep up the great work!

New uniforms are in our future! Attached is the tentative design - AWESOME!
As you may already know due to low interest and a limited amount of deposits received there will be no band trip for the 2008-09 season.The next band trip will be Spring Break 2010.Band trips are a great way to show off the talent and showmanship of the RHS Marching Spartans.Plus, they are just great fun.Start preparing now.

Attached is the itinerary for the Wheeling High School Field Competition for Saturday September 20
12:00 -12:30pm load buses and travel to BHS for parade start
2:00pm Bolingbrook Parade
Immediately following the parade we will board the buses travel to St. Rita
Approximate performance time at St. Rita will be 5:45pm

ATTENTION!
The Bolingbrook Parade has been rescheduled for September 28. That is the same day as the St. Rita competition. Our schedule will be modified to see if we can accomodate both. Stay tuned, information regarding the schedule changes will be posted as soon asit is available.

As you know the picnic is this coming Sunday Sept. 7 at 5pm. As always we are looking for a great turnout, if you haven't turned in your response form, please do ASAP. I am still looking for one more Chef with his or her own gas grill.
As you have heard we have a new concession stand. Our first game is Friday Sept 5, on Thursday Sept 4 we will be in a panic setting up and cleaning the new concession stand. If you have any time Thursday evening 6pm on we would appreciate your help in setting it up.
There are 4 football games this season, plus one powder puff game. If you would like to help man in the concession stand at this Friday's Game, please let me know ASAP. We will need help from 5 until this end of the night. You can work the whole night or you can work in 1 or 2 hours increments. The other football games are Sept. 12, Sept. 25 (powder puff), September 26 and October 10. We will need help at all of these games.
Please join us at our next booster meeting which is September 9th at 7.30pm in the band room.
